Job Number: 35294 Department: Government Flying Service Job Title: Part-time Airworthiness Specialist Salary: Hourly wage: HK$473 Entry Requirements: The candidate should –
(1) be a holder of Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) Aircraft Maintenance Licence (HKAR-66) with the category B1.1/B1.3 or B2;
(2) possess not less than 20 years of practical experience in aircraft engineering with 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience in a supervisory position;
(3) possess not less than 10 years of working experience in a HKCAD approved aircraft design and/or maintenance organization for both fixed wing aircrafts and helicopters; and
(4) be a Corporate Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) in the Aircraft Division, or equivalent.
Duties: The part-time airworthiness specialist is mainly deployed to-
(1) assist in handling all matters related to aircraft design changes and airworthiness in aircraft maintenance and operation;
(2) assist in ensuring compliance of the aviation legislation and regulations in airworthiness, environmental protection requirements, aircraft certification and maintenance procedures as specified in the GFS Engineering Manual; and
(3) assist in maintaining the quality standards of the Engineering Section to ensure continued validity of both the Aircraft Maintenance Organization and the Design Organization approvals.
Terms of Appointment: Selected candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms on part-time basis for 12 months. Number of working hours within a week may vary depending on the actual needs. Normally, selected candidate will be required to work at a schedule arranged by the supervisor subject to a maximum of 17 hours per week. Renewal of contract will be subject to the actual needs of the Department and the performance of the candidate. General Notes: (a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.
