Candidates should have (a) at least twelve years’ full-time working experience, with eight years of which should be in government departments discharging law enforcement duties; (b) met the language proficiency of Level 2 or above in the Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: ‘Grade E’ in English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth); (c) good proficiency in spoken Putonghua would be an advantage; and (d) knowledge and experience in computer work.
(a) Candidates should attach a curriculum vitae which should include details of their previous working experience to the applications; (b) Holders of academic/professional qualifications obtained from institutions outside Hong Kong should attach copies of their official transcripts and certificates to their applications; and (c) Successful candidate may be required to work during or outside normal office hours on any days, including weekdays (Monday to Friday), Saturdays, Sundays and public holiday, etc. The number of working hours is subject to the operational needs. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period.
Successful candidate will be required to (a) provide technical support to inspectors and officers on various operations and programs; (b) render field support and carry out inspections and site visits to local waste cooking oils operators; (c) process applications; (d) carry out investigation into complaints and non-compliance of cases; (e) assist in technical data handling, progress updating and preparation of technical reports; (f) answer and handle public enquiries; and (g) perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. (Notes: Successful candidate may be required to work outdoors.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for twelve months.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. Completed application forms together with copies of academic qualifications and documentary proof for work experience should reach the following address of the recruiting department on or before the closing date for application.
