入職條件:	申請人必須： (a) 持有本港大學頒授的統計學碩士學位，或同等學歷； 或 (b) (i) 持有本港大學頒授的統計學一級或二級榮譽學士學位，或同等學歷；或 (ii) 已獲頒授香港統計學會的學位統計師資格，或同等學歷；及 (iii) 持有本港大學頒授的數學、經濟學、社會學或有關學科碩士學位，或同等學歷； 或 (c) (i) 持有本港大學頒授的統計學一級或二級榮譽學士學位，或同等學歷；或 (ii) 持有本港大學頒授的數學、經濟學、社會學或有關學科一級或二級榮譽學士學位，當中統計學必須為修讀科目之一，或同等學歷；或 (iii) 已獲頒授香港統計學會的學位統計師資格，或同等學歷；及 (iv) 在取得上述學歷後，具備最少兩年符合相關職責水平及與統計相關的工作經驗； 及 (d) 在綜合招聘考試的能力傾向測試取得及格成績； (e) 符合語文能力的要求，在綜合招聘考試的兩張語文試卷（中文運用和英文運用）中取得「二級」成績，或同等成績；及 (f) 在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績。
註:	(1) 課程內容有相當部分為統計學的認可碩士或學士學位（例如：風險管理、精算學、數據科學、數據分析課程）會分別被視為等同於統計學碩士或學士學歷。 (2) 申請人在截止申請日期（即2025年7月31日）仍未具備所需資格，則被視作未能符合入職條件。不過，現正修讀最後一年研究院課程並曾參加綜合招聘考試的應屆畢業生亦可申請。如獲甄選，聘用與否須視乎申請人是否在2024/25學年內取得所需的學歷資格和是否達到所定的語文能力及能力傾向測試要求。 (3) 考生在能力傾向測試的成績分為「及格」或「不及格」。綜合招聘考試的中文運用及英文運用試卷的成績分為二級、一級或不及格，並以二級為最高等級。 (4) 政府在聘任公務員時，香港中學文憑考試中國語文科第5級或以上成績;或香港高級程度會考中國語文及文化、中國語言文學或中國語文科C級或以上的成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試中文運用試卷的二級成績。 香港中學文憑考試英國語文科第5級或以上成績;或香港高級程度會考英語運用科C級或以上成績;或General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level) English Language科C級或以上成績，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的二級成績。 在International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 學術模式整體分級取得6.5或以上，並在同一次考試中各項個別分級取得不低於6的成績的人士，在IELTS考試成績的兩年有效期內，會獲接納為等同綜合招聘考試英文運用試卷的二級成績。IELTS考試成績必須在職位申請期內其中任何一日（即2025年7月11日至31日）有效。 (5) 政府會測試所有應徵公務員職位人士的《基本法》及《香港國安法》知識。在《基本法及香港國安法》測試取得及格成績是所有公務員職位的入職條件。申請人必須在《基本法及香港國安法》測試中取得及格成績方會獲考慮聘用。 如申請人在申請公務員職位時仍未曾參加相關的《基本法及香港國安法》測試或未曾在相關的《基本法及香港國安法》測試考獲及格成績，仍可作出申請。他們會被安排在招聘過程中參加相關《基本法及香港國安法》測試。 (6) 申請人須參加暫定於2025年9月13日（星期六）在香港舉行的筆試，詳情將於稍後通知。筆試結果會用作甄別可參加遴選面試的申請人。由於審核所有申請需時，申請人獲邀請參加筆試並不表示其已符合所申請職位的入職條件。
職責:	主要負責： (a) 擔任組別（或其他決策局／部門的統計組）主管，推動、統籌、檢視和整合其組別／小組負責的統計及數據科學計劃； (b) 在高級統計師的指導下，發展、組織及推行統計及數據科學計劃／系統； (c) 進行統計分析及數據科學研究，以及匯報工作方法及成果； (d) 在高級統計師的領導下，就重要的統計及數據科學課題進行研究； (e) 就數據使用者的需要予以配合，並就數據的詮釋和應用方面向數據使用者提供意見，以助其制訂政策、規劃、決策及研究；以及 (f) 督導統計人員的工作，並給予專業指引和輔導。
聘用條款:	獲取錄的申請人通常會按公務員試用條款受聘，試用期為三年；通過試用期後，該人員可獲考慮按當時適用的長期聘用條款聘用。

Entry Requirements:	Candidates should have : (a) a Master degree in Statistics from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent; OR (b) (i) a first or second class honours bachelor’s degree in Statistics from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent; or (ii) been designated as Graduate Statistician of the Hong Kong Statistical Society, or equivalent; and (iii) a Master degree in Mathematics, Economics, Sociology, or a related field from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent; OR (c) (i) a first or second class honours bachelor’s degree in Statistics from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent; or (ii) a first or second class honours bachelor’s degree with Statistics as one of the subjects taken, in Mathematics, Economics, Sociology, or a related field from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent; or (iii) been designated as Graduate Statistician of the Hong Kong Statistical Society, or equivalent; and (iv) at least two years’ post-graduate experience at an appropriate level of responsibility in statistics-related work; AND (d) a pass result in the Aptitude Test (AT) in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE); (e) met the language proficiency requirements of ‘Level 2’ results in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the CRE, or equivalent; and (f) a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test.
Note:	(1) A recognised Master or bachelor’s degree in programmes with substantial contents of Statistics (e.g. programmes on risk management, actuarial science, data science, data analytics) will be considered as equivalent to a Master or bachelor’s degree in Statistics respectively. (2) Applicants who do not possess the requisite qualification by the close of the application period, i.e. 31 July 2025, are regarded as not having met the entry requirements. However, current final year postgraduates who have sat for the CRE may also apply; if selected, appointment will be subject to their obtaining the required academic qualifications within 2024/25 academic year and meeting the language proficiency and aptitude test requirements. (3) Candidates’ results in the AT paper are classified as Pass or Fail. The results of the Use of Chinese (UC) and Use of English (UE) papers in the CRE are classified as Level 2, Level 1 or Fail, with Level 2 being the highest. (4) For civil service appointment purpose, Level 5 or above in Chinese Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE); or Grade C or above in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE), are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UC paper of the CRE. Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE; or Grade C or above in Use of English of the HKALE; or Grade C or above in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level), are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. Applicants with an overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test result are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. The IELTS test result must be valid on any date during the application period, i.e. 11 to 31 July 2025. (5) All applicants for civil service jobs will be assessed on their knowledge of the Basic Law and the National Security Law. A pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (BLNST) is an entry requirement for all civil service jobs. Only those candidates who have passed the BLNST will be considered for appointment. For candidates who have not taken the relevant BLNST or have not attained a pass result in the relevant BLNST at the time of application, they may still apply for the job and arrangements will be made for them to take the relevant BLNST during the recruitment process. (6) Candidates are required to sit for a written examination, which is tentatively scheduled to be held in Hong Kong on 13 September 2025 (Saturday). Details will be announced in due course. The result of the written examination will be used for screening in candidates for selection interview. As it takes time to process all applications, an invitation to the written examination does not imply that an applicant has met the entry requirements of the post being applied for.
Duties:	Mainly deployed on : (a) taking charge of a section of the department (or a statistical unit of other bureaux/departments) to drive, coordinate, review and integrate statistical and data science projects undertaken by the section/unit; (b) developing, organising and implementing statistical and data science projects/systems under the guidance of a Senior Statistician; (c) conducting statistical analyses and data science studies, and presenting the methods and outputs; (d) undertaking researches on key statistical and data science issues as directed by a Senior Statistician; (e) addressing the needs of data users and advising them on the interpretation and application of data for policy formulation, planning, decision making and research; and (f) supervising and providing professional guidance and coaching to statistical staff.
Terms of Appointment:	A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, the officer may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
