Master Pay Scale Point 4 (HK$13,970 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 7 (HK$16,890 per month)
(a) have knowledge of domestic work. Qualifications or experience in laundry, needlework and alteration of clothing are preferred; and
(b) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and write simple Chinese; with secondary education and ability to speak simple English and Putonghua is an advantage.
Major duties include -
(a) to perform laundry duties and needlework including sorting, washing, ironing, repairing and alteration of clothing and soft furnishings;
(b) to handle daily cleaning work including dusting, scrubbing and polishing of floor, carpet shampooing, washing up of display items, crockery, tableware and cutlery, collecting and sorting luggage; and
(c) to assist in venue set-up, logistical support and manual work for events and functions and housekeeping services.
(Note 1 : Domestic Staff V are required to (a) work overtime and irregular hours including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays; (b) wear uniform; and (c) be deployed to work in Government House, Fanling Lodge and any other places as required.
Note 2 : For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law (BL) and promoting a culture of learning of BL in the community, assessment of BL knowledge will be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. Candidates who are invited to attend the recruitment interview will be tested orally on their BL knowledge during recruitment interview. The results of BL assessment will be taken into account only if two candidates are considered equal in all other aspects.)
Terms of Appointment:
A new recruit will be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, the officer may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
