Candidates should have - (a)(i) Level 2 or equivalent (Note 1) or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; or (ii) Level 2 (Note 3) / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; and (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (Note 3) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the preparation of press cuttings or relevant experience.
(1) For appointment purpose, “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. (2) The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language. (3) For appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
The Part-time Contract Clerk is required to assist the Secretariat Press Office in the selection and preparation of newspaper cuttings for Administration Wing, Protocol Division, etc., and providing delivery and general clerical support every morning from 7:00 am to 10:30 am, Monday to Friday. Over-time work may be required and will be compensated by time-off-in-lieu only.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of one year.
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance and the contract terms.

Completed forms, together with copies of (i) official certificates and transcripts of academic qualifications; and (ii) documentary proof of relevant experience (if available), should reach the enquiry address on or before the closing date for application, with the envelopes clearly marked “Application for the position of Part-time Contract Clerk.”
On-line application can also be made through the Civil Service Bureau's web site (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Candidates who apply online should submit copies of (i) official certificates and transcripts of academic qualifications; and (ii) documentary proof of experience in journalism/related industry (if available) within one week after close of application period to the enquiry address. Applications which are incomplete, late or submitted by fax or email, or not made in the prescribed form, or without required supporting documents will not be considered.
