Candidates should have – (a)completed Secondary 5 and 1 year’s relevant experience in undertaking general administrative / customer services or clerical duties; AND (b)met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) / Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent [See the Note].
Candidates who – (i)have ability to speak fluent Putonghua and English; (ii)show proficiency in MS office applications and Chinese Word processing; and (iii)have outgoing and customer-oriented personality; and can work independently will have an advantage.
“Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Responsible for carrying out general clerical duties, including general administration, data processing, receiving and escorting visitors, guests and members of the public and directing them to appropriate officers, handling enquiries from public, distributing pamphlets and correspondences, carrying out duties as telephone operator, performing receiving and dispatching duties, assisting in file-related matters and undertaking any other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on six-month non-civil service contract terms.
If the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct, the officer may be granted a gratuity which, when added together with the Government’s contribution to MPF scheme, equals 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, general holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted on terms not less favourable than the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
