HK$ 10,450 per month (fixed throughout the contract period)
(a) (i) have Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent [Note 1]; or
(ii) have Level 2 / Grade E or above in five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [Note 2] ; and
(b) (i) have completed a certificate course related to technical production for theatrical entertainment or other related subjects from a tertiary education institute, continuing/ professional education institute or vocational training institute registered in Hong Kong, or equivalent; or
(ii) have relevant working experience in stage technical production, including scenery building, operation or maintenance of stage/ lighting/ sound systems or equipment; and
(c) have good command of spoken English and Cantonese.
1. For non-civil service appointment purpose, “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
2. For non-civil service appointment purpose, 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the previous HKCEE is accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 2' in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Successful candidates will be deployed to the backstage of designated performing arts venues of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and receive on-the-job training in day-to-day operation of stage services. Training includes the techniques in preparing stage equipment, operating bar system and other stage systems according to schedule and programme rundown, ensuring operational safety, working with lighting and sound teams, managing requests from venue hirers etc, during stage setups, rehearsals, performances and move-outs. It also includes the skills of equipment cleaning and simple maintenance, staff and equipment deployment, drawing of simple stage plans, etc.
(Note: Performing arts venues of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department provide theatre services to the public normally from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm daily. Stage management team is responsible for the coordination and provision of integrated technical services to the users. Stage Management Trainees are required to work shifts and irregular hours; and work on Saturdays, Sundays and/or Public Holidays.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on a non-renewable 24-month contract on non-civil service contract term, with salary fixed throughout the contract period. Stage Management Trainees are subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme Ordinance (Cap. 485).
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria.
(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
