Candidates should –
(a)(i) have an accredited Associate Degree from a Hong Kong tertiary institution, or a Higher Diploma from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/ polytechnic/ Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/ technical college, or equivalent; OR
(ii) have Level 3 or equivalent [Note (1)] or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) [Note (2)], or equivalent; or Grade E or above in two subjects at Advanced Level in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination and Level 3 [Note (3)]/ Grade C or above in three other subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [Note (2)], or equivalent;
(b) have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [Note (3)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent;
(c) possess at least one year of full-time clerical working experience;
(d) have good Chinese data processing and typing skills;
(e) have good knowledge and skills in the application of common computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation; and
(f) be able to communicate in Putonghua.
(1) For appointment purpose, "Attained with Distinction" in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade C in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 3 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. "Attained" in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(2) The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.
(3) For appointment purpose, Grade C and Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 3 and Level 2 respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(4) May be required to pass a trade test.
A Registration Supervisor is mainly deployed to –
(a) assist in processing of applications for Chinese medicines trader licences and proprietary Chinese medicines registration, including vetting of applications, payment processing, handling of cancelled/ withdrawn cases and correspondence with applicants;
(b) handle public enquiries/ complaints, and assist in drafting and issue of correspondences to other government departments and external parties;
(c) supervise and coordinate clerical duties carried out by clerical staff;
(d) provide clerical and logistics support for the meetings of the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong and its Boards and Committees and other events, such as briefings and seminars;
(e) assist in drafting discussion papers for meetings;
(f) maintain the computer databases and assist in the development of the computer systems; and
(g) assist in devising and implementing the operation procedures for application and programme accreditation for Continuing Education in Chinese Medicine.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on 12-month non-civil service contract terms. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Department and the performance of the candidate.
10 days annual leave, rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/ she will be invited to attend the selection interview/ written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting.
(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/ Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the below enquiry address.

The application period for the post of Registration Supervisor is from 14 August 2015 (Friday) to 27 August 2015 (Thursday).
