Candidates should – (a) have at least ten years’ full-time working experience, with eight years of which should be in government departments discharging prosecution and law enforcement duties; (b) be fluent in both Cantonese and English. Good proficiency in spoken Putonghua would be an advantage; and (c) have basic knowledge in computer application for preparation of reports.
Successful candidate may be required to work during or outside normal office hours on any days, including weekdays (Monday to Friday), Saturdays, Sundays and public holiday, etc. The number of working hours is subject to the operational needs. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period.
Successful candidate will be required to – (a) assist in the enforcement of the Plastic Shopping Bag Charging (PSB Charging) and handling of complaints regarding the PSB Charging; (b) carry out on-site inspection and compliance check at retail outlets; (c) discharge enforcement duties including investigation, collection of evidence, issuance of fixed penalty notices, and initiation of prosecution actions for contraventions against the PSB Charging; (d) give witness statement in legal proceedings and testify in court when necessary; (e) answer and follow up telephone enquiries from the trade and general public; and (f) facilitate the trade to comply with the PSB Charging. (Notes: Successful candidate has to work outdoors.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for twelve months.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Candidates should state in details regarding their relevant work experience and detailed job description of previous employments on the application forms. Completed application forms, together with copies of documentary proof for work experience, should reach the Enquiry Address on or before the closing date for application. Please indicate the post applied for on the envelope. Applications which are late or incomplete/without the relevant supporting documents or submitted by fax/email will not be considered. On-line application is not accepted. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about four weeks from the closing date of application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
