(1) Be able to read and write simple Chinese and English; and
(2) Pass a fitness test of lifting and carrying a mail bag (around 16 kg) from one place to another.
(1) To perform temperature checks on persons entering post offices;
(2) To assist in managing the queues of customers at public hall of post offices;
(3) To assist in simple cleansing work of counters;
(4) To load and unload/bundle up/dispatch mail items and mail bags;
(5) To perform messenger duties;
(6) To convey, load and unload bulky items in indoor or outdoor areas; and deliver goods by vehicles; and
(7) To undertake any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
(a) Work Location: Any regions in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories
(b) Working Hours: 48 hours gross per week (including meal break)
(c) The working location and time may vary according to the operational needs of the Department. Selected candidates are required to work shifts, in irregular hours and/or overtime. They may also be required to be on duty on Sundays and/or public holidays on certain occasions, depending on the operational needs.
Terms of Appointment:
The successful candidate(s) will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one to three months.
(a) Candidates appointed must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend the fitness test and interview.
(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to the fitness test and interview without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (g) The selection interview will be held as scheduled when No. 3 Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal or lower, and / or the "Amber" or "Red" Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued. If No.8 or higher Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal, and / or "Black" Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted at 7am on the day of interview, or an announcement is made that such warning signal(s) will be hoisted in the coming two hours, interviews scheduled before 1pm will be cancelled. If No.8 or higher Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal, and / or "Black" Rainstorm Warning Signal is hoisted at 12 noon on the day of interview, or announcement is made that such warning signals will be hoisted in the coming two hours, interviews scheduled after 1pm will be cancelled. The Department will inform applicants of the rescheduling of interviews.

Application Forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's web site (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Applications submitted in person or by post should reach the above enquiry address. Please specify "Application for the Post of Temporary Postal Worker" on the envelope. The postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application. To avoid delayed or unsuccessful delivery of applications by post, please ensure that the correct address is clearly printed or written on the envelope and sufficient postage has been affixed before posting. Mail items bearing insufficient postage will not be delivered to the above enquiry address and will be returned to the sender or disposed of by the Hongkong Post, where appropriate. Applicants will bear any consequences arising from paying insufficient postage. Applications submitted by fax or e-mail will not be accepted. If candidates fail to provide the supporting documents as required, or if applications with incomplete or unclear information, late applications, duplicate applications, not duly signed, or not made in the prescribed form, their applications will not be considered. Candidates who are invited for the fitness test and interview will normally receive an invitation within 2 to 4 weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for the fitness test and interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful. The period of notification for trade test may be longer in exceptional circumstances, e.g. when a large number of applications are received or when there are other complications.
