Candidates should have –
(a) valid Hong Kong Driving Licences for private car and medium goods vehicle;
(b) completion of Secondary 5;
(c) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [Note 1] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent; and
(d) at least 3 years’ driving experience in medium goods vehicles (documentary proof of relevant experience is required).
Preference will be given to candidates having -
(a) good command of spoken English and Putonghua;
(b) knowledge of computer and audio/visual operation; or
(c) experience in assisting in organising outreach activities.
(1) “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE is accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(2) Candidates will be required to pass a driving test conducted by Government Logistics Department before being considered for appointment.
(a) To operate the Mobile Exhibition Centre (MEC) and the equipment on board of the vehicle, and ensure that they are in good working condition;
(b) to perform routine maintenance work for the MEC vehicle to ensure its normal operation and report any problems for repairing;
(c) to assist in the maintenance and cleansing of the MEC, and to liaise with Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and concerned parties in the process when required;
(d) to maintain a record of the usage of the MEC at each outreach event;
(e) to deliver and distribute equipment/publicity materials and to brief members of the public on the operation of the computer games on the MEC in accordance with the instruction;
(f) to help out in outreach activities at schools, public venues and shopping centre such as leaflets distribution, games briefing and maintenance of order;
(g) to assist and prepare a list of schools/public venues to be visited, and to liaise with representatives of schools and public venues regarding the setting up arrangement prior to the scheduled visit when required; and
(h) to perform any other duties in relation to Planning Department Outreach Programme as and when required.
[Note: May be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.]
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for one year.
An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria.
(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. Completed application forms, together with copies of driving license, certificates of academic qualifications and documentary proof of working experience, should reach the specified address on or before the closing date for application.
