Assistant Information Technology Officer - System Administration

Candidates should have:- (a) (i) a Hong Kong degree in IT/Computer subjects or equivalent; OR (ii) a Higher Diploma in IT/Computer subjects with at least 2 years of relevant IT experience; and (b) Good knowledge or experience in system administration, database administration and technical support on UNIX, RDBMS (e.g. Oracle, DB2, etc.), Linux and Microsoft Windows Server is preferable; and (c) familiar with UNIX midrange platform, Oracle database (version 10g or above), Oracle WebLogic Server (version 10g or above), Microsoft Windows Server (2008 or above); and (d) knowledge or experience in UNIX shell programming and Oracle development tools (i.e. PL/SQL, Oracle Forms 6i or above, Oracle Reports 6i or above and Pro*C) is desirable.
Mainly responsible for the system administration, database administration and technical support on UNIX midrange platform and Oracle database including hardware and software installation, security and access control management, configuration management, performance monitoring and tuning, problem solving, operation support, documentation and other technical support activities.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of 1 year.
Upon satisfactory completion of the contract, the appointee may be granted a gratuity for the period of the service. Such gratuity, plus any contribution by the Government to an MPF scheme required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
