Candidates should have- (a) (i) obtained a Certificate in Civil Engineering from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/technical college/technical institute, or equivalent; or
(ii) completed a Technician Apprenticeship in civil engineering;
(b) attained Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) or equivalent (N.B.: “Grade C” and “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 3 and Level 2 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth respectively.).
(1) The selected candidates with less than 1 year's relevant post-apprenticeship/ post-qualification experience will be appointed at HK$18,230 per month. (2) The selected candidates with 1 year's relevant post-apprenticeship/ post-qualification experience will be appointed at HK$19,330 per month. (3) The selected candidates with 2 year's relevant post-apprenticeship/ post-qualification experience will be appointed at HK$20,525 per month. (4) The selected candidates with 3 year's or above relevant post-apprenticeship/ post-qualification experience will be appointed at HK$21,805 per month.
(a) To supervise routine inspection, CCTV surveys, and rehabilitation and replacement works; (b) To supervise and monitor the progress and workmanship of contractor's works; (c) To supervise contractor night gangs in night-time on roster; (d) To investigate and handle complaints in day-time and night-time on roster; (e) To prepare cost estimates and check measurement of works orders; (f) To audit sewer connections; and (g) To carry out emergency duties as required. (N.B: Successful candidates may be required to work irregular hours, shift, in remote sites and/or undertake on-call, standby and emergency duties.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms.
Upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance and conduct, the appointee will be granted a gratuity for the period of service. Such gratuity, plus any contribution by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory and general holidays, annual leave, maternity/paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise. (b) The entry pay, terms of appointment and conditions of service to be offered are subject to the provisions prevailing at the time the offer of appointment is made.
