(a) A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building or Building Studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) or a technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (See Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and (c) At least three years' relevant post-qualification experience.
For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(a) To assist the Maintenance Officer in monitoring the overall performance of consultants and the quality control of works done by contractors; (b) To conduct audit checking on site to ensure the works are completed to the required standards; (c) To check work progress and verify completed work; (d) To assist the Maintenance Officer in the quality control, audit checking and coordination of more complicated projects; (e) To check repair proposals and estimates prepared by consultants, contractors and schools; (f) To coordinate and liaise with consultants, contractors and schools for various projects; (g) To undertake duties assigned by the Maintenance Officer in relation to school premises maintenance/improvement/alteration works; (h) To conduct inspection for assessment of repair proposals submitted by schools and prepare required work estimates; and (i) Required to work irregular hours and perform outdoor duties.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms up to 28 February 2017.
(a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays(or substituted holidays), maternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. (b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
