Candidates should (a)(i) have a degree in Accountancy from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; or (ii) be a registered student of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Qualification Programme, or equivalent; (b) have obtained Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note]; (c) have at least three years' post-qualification working experience in auditing or insolvency; (d) have good oral and written communication skills in both Cantonese and English; and (e) have good knowledge in MS Excel and MS Word.
'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE held before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Mainly deployed on handling general accounting work, assisting in carrying out performance analysis and reviews, conducting audit/examination of accounts prepared by outside liquidators and trustees, investigatory accounting, preparing audit reports and audit letters, performing ad hoc costing exercise/fees and charges review, following up replies from outside liquidators and trustees and performing other office duties as assigned. (Note : Required to perform outdoor duties when necessary.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 12 months.
A gratuity will be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The gratuity, plus any contribution by the Government towards a mandatory provident fund as required by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. 12 days paid annual leave will be granted under a continuous contract of employment for every 12 months.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria.
(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
