Candidates should have - (a) a 1st or 2nd class honours degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent; (b) at least 3 years’ relevant working experience in planning, implementation and monitoring of educational/publicity programmes, preferably in the public sector or education sector and with experience in handling quotation/tender matters in the public sector; (c) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: “Grade C” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and thereafter); (d) strong analytical power and good organization, communication and interpersonal skills, and be detail oriented and self-motivated; and (e) good knowledge in computer applications including MS Office and Chinese word processing.
(a) Holders of academic/professional qualifications obtained from institutions outside Hong Kong should attach copies of their official transcripts and certificates to their applications. (b) Candidates may be required to sit for a written examination on the date of interview.
To assist in (a) planning and implementation of education and publicity activities under the Sustainable Development (SD) Ambassador Programme including research in SD related subjects, formulation of education and publicity programmes, liaison with relevant parties for smooth implementation of the programmes; (b) planning, implementing and monitoring the on-going education and publicity programmes for schools under the Education and Publicity Sub-committee (EPSC) of the Council for Sustainable Development with target audience of students and teachers of all the secondary schools in Hong Kong including maintaining close contact with the participating schools and managing contractors to ensure smooth implementation of activities; (c) planning and implementing other education and publicity initiatives as advised by the EPSC from time to time. The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the department. The successful candidate may be required to (a) work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings and weekends; and (b) work outdoors.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for two years.
14 days paid annual leave will be granted to the successful candidate. The eligibility for rest days, statutory holidays (or substitute holidays), maternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, is in line with those provided for under the Employment Ordinance. A gratuity may be granted at the end of the contract period if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary received during the contract period.
