Contract Part-time Fire Service Installations Training Advisors
Hourly Salary : HK $290
The candidate should -
(a) have obtained a Bachelor Degree (Hons) in Fire Engineering by local or overseas university;
(b) possess not less than 25 years of practical experience in the Fire Service Installations field and/or related fire protection experience;
(c) have met the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent (See Note 1);
(d) preferably possess good instruction / teaching background; and
(e) possess general office computer skills (see Note 2).
(1) For appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(2) Candidates with experience in using PowerPoint will be an advantage.
(a) To prepare training materials on the design concepts, specifications and standards of various types of Fire Service Installations (FSIs) including automatic sprinkler system, fire detection system and fire hydrant/ hose reel system, etc;
(b) To conduct in-house training on FSIs to FSD members at fire stations and other fire service premises;
(c) To provide advisory service to FSD members on the design concepts, specifications and standards of FSls; and
(d) carry out any other duties in relation to training on FSIs.
Terms of Appointment:
Selected candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a fixed period of 12 months.
Number of working days within a week or month may vary depending on the actual needs. Normally, selected candidate will be required to work at a schedule arranged by the supervisor subject to a minimum of 60 hours per month.
(a) Non-civil service vacancies are not posts on the civil service establishment. Candidates appointed are not on civil service terms of appointment and conditions of service. Candidates appointed are not civil servants and will not be eligible for posting, promotion or transfer to any posts in the Civil Service.
(b) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.
(c) The entry pay, terms of appointment and conditions of service to be offered are subject to the provisions prevailing at the time the offer of appointment is made.
