$35,000 to $50,000 per month, depending on the qualification and relevant working experience
(a) have a bachelor degree in journalism or communication from a local university, or equivalent; and a minimum of 5 years’ full-time post-qualification media/journalistic experience; or a diploma in journalism or communication from a registered post-secondary college issued after the date of its registration, or equivalent; and a minimum of 10 years’ full-time post-qualification media/journalistic experience;
(b) have good command of written and spoken English and/or Chinese;
(c) have good understanding of community affairs;
(d) have effective research skills, including the use of online resources;
(e) have strong communication, organisational and presentation skills; and
(f) be mature, self-motivated and able to work long or irregular hours.
(a) To conduct research on financial and economic related issues;
(b) To write up reports based on the research findings and analysis;
(c) To assist in drafting articles and speeches;
(d) To assist in drafting replies to public enquiries;
(e) To assist in the conduct of community engagement exercises; and
(f) To perform other duties as required by senior officers.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of eighteen months.
(a) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
(b) The benefits in respect of rest days, statutory holidays, annual leave, maternity leave or paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance and confirmed at the time of the offer of appointment.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(e) Where a large number of candidates meet the specified entry requirements, the recruiting department may devise shortlisting criteria to select the better qualified candidates for further processing. In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend selection interview.
(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria.
(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong Institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail together with their applications forms to the enquiry address.

Completed application form together with a full curriculum vitae and copies of relevant documents (as specified below), should reach the enquiry address on or before the closing for application, with envelope clearly marked “Application for the position of Researcher”. When submitting the application, the candidate is required to provide the following documents-
(a) a full curriculum vitae including:
(i) details of bachelor degree (e.g. major subject and class and division of honours) or diploma; and
(ii) employment records with detailed description of duties;
(b) copies of all relevant certificates and academic transcripts of studies; and

Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about four weeks from the closing date for applications, but this timing is subject to change without prior notification to applicants.
