Candidates should have -
(a) a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or equivalent;
(b) at least three years’ post-qualification experience in management field, preferably in planning and implementation of projects and/or organisation of events;
(c) good oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English (ability to speak Putonghua is an advantage), with Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note 1); and
(d) good interpersonal skills and be able to cope with tight working schedules.
(1) ‘Grade C’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Mainly deployed to –
(a) assist in the planning and implementation of policies, projects and events;
(b) provide logistical and secretariat support to boards and committees, events and overseas duty visits;
(c) provide administrative support to the office, including the handling of public complaints and enquiries; and
(d) research on various policies and projects.
Terms of Appointment:
The successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service terms for two years. An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon
satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Branch and the performance of the candidate.
The candidate appointed is eligible for 14 days’ paid annual leave. Other benefits such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted
holidays), annual leave, maternity/ paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the Employment Ordinance (Cap.57).
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend recruitment examination and/or interview.
(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria.
(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. Completed forms with detailed resume, copies of transcripts and certificates of HKDSEE/HKCEE or equivalent should reach the
following enquiry address on or before the closing date for application (according to the postmark). Applicants should clearly mark “Application for Assistant Manager” on the envelope. Applications which are incomplete, not accompanied by the required
documents or late will not be considered.
Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about six to eight weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
