Part-time Project Officer (Waste and Land Contamination Assessment)
$357 per hour
Candidates should have (a) a Hong Kong degree in relevant science, environmental or engineering subject, or equivalent; (b) at least ten years of post-qualification and full-time working experience at professional level of responsibility in the field of environmental protection preferably on waste management and land contamination assessment for planning and engineering projects; (c) knowledge and experience in the management of potentially contaminated sites; (d) strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Successful candidate may be required to work during or outside normal office hours on any days, including weekdays (Monday to Friday), Saturdays, Sundays and public holiday, etc. The number of working hours is subject to the operational needs. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period.
Successful candidate will be required to (a) assist in vetting waste and land contamination assessment for the projects submitted in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance, and provide professional advice for ensuring that the waste and land contamination issues are properly addressed in the submissions; (b) provide professional waste and land contamination assessment for planning studies and strategic planning cases, and Town Planning Board submissions; (c) provide advice and comments on land contamination assessment and decontamination reports for contaminated sites in accordance with relevant guidelines and practice notes; (d) assist in responding to related enquiries, and in compiling information for databases and checklists.
(Notes: Successful candidate may be required to work outdoors occasionally.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for twelve months.
