Candidates should have (a) a Hong Kong degree in Chemical, Civil or Environmental Engineering subject, or equivalent; (b) Corporate Membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers in relevant Chemical, Civil or Environmental Discipline admitted on or after 5 December 1975, or equivalent; (c) at least 8 years’ full-time post-qualifications working experience in the areas of landfill/refuse transfer station management, works projects/ consultancy studies management and restored landfill aftercare & after-use management; or equivalent; (d) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 or above in English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: ‘Grade E’ in English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth); and (e) strong command of written and spoken Chinese.
(a) Candidates should clearly specify the discipline of their corporate membership in the applications and attach a curriculum vitae which should include details of their previous working experience to the applications; (b) Holders of academic/professional qualifications obtained from institutions outside Hong Kong should attach copies of their official transcripts and certificates to their applications; and (c) Successful candidate may be required to work during or outside normal office hours on any days, including weekdays (Monday to Friday), Saturdays, Sundays and public holiday, etc. The number of working hours is subject to the operational needs. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period.
Successful candidate will be required to (a) provide professional support to the management of waste facility projects (including landfills and refuse transfer stations); (b) co-ordinate the development of waste facility projects; (c) attend enquiries and meetings, and communicate with the consultants, relevant bureaux/departments, district and local committees and other stakeholders on matters related to the waste facility projects, landfill extension projects and other related betterment projects; (d) monitor progress of consultancy including vetting submissions; (e) manage consultancy studies and tender process; and (f) perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors. (Notes:Successful candidate may be required to work outdoors occasionally.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for twelve months.
