Candidates should –
(a) Have a degree in Accountancy from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
(b) Have at least 8 years’ experience in accounting/auditing;
(c) Possess good oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English, with Level 2 [Note (a)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and
(d) Be proficient in PC operations, especially in using MS Word and Excel.
(a) ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(b) Preference will be given to candidates who have good knowledge and experience in government accounting practices and control procedures.
(a) To assist in supervising the processing of claims for financial assistance lodged by the 2015 District Council Election candidates in accordance with relevant electoral legislation and guidelines;
(b) To assist in drawing up and implementing appropriate procedures for processing the claims and auditing the accounts of the declared election expenses accompanying the claims;
(c) To assist in identifying potential problem cases timely and follow up as appropriate;
(d) To supervise a team of Electoral Assistants and General Assistants; and
(e) To perform any other duties assigned as appropriate.
May be required to work overtime and work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for around eight months starting from around November 2015.
12 days of annual leave, full pay sickness allowance and maternity leave whereas rest days and statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria.
(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
