$39,395 – 62,280 per month, depending on experience
Candidates should have –
(a) a Hong Kong degree in Engineering, or equivalent, recognized by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) as fulfilling its academic requirements for Corporate Membership in either Electronics or Electrical Disciplines (elected after 5 December 1975), or equivalent; and 5 years’ relevant practical post-degree training and/or experience recognized by HKIE as contributing towards Corporate Membership in either Electronics or Electrical Disciplines, or equivalent; of which 2 years’ experience should be in the planning and development of engineering projects in TV broadcasting, radio broadcasting or multimedia environment; and
(b) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 or above in English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) / Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, or equivalent [See Note (1)].
Candidates who –
(i) are strong at broadcast project planning, technical performance monitoring and cost modeling;
(ii) possess good understanding of the latest broadcast technologies including DTT, DAB, HDTV, Tapeless Production, Digital Newsroom, Broadcast Networks and their applications;
(iii) have solid experience related to Network Routers, Switches, Firewalls or IT infrastructure; and/or
(iv) have the experience specializing in two or more of the following fields: (a) Broadcast based IT Network and System; (b) Streaming Technology; (c) Media Asset Management System; (d) Digital Video/Audio Broadcast; (e) Engineering Strategic Planning; (f) System Development and Integration; (g) Digital Playout System; and (h) RF Transmission
will have an advantage.
(1) “Grade E” in English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE is accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. (2) Candidates will be required to sit for a trade test.
(i) to carry out detailed planning and development for digital broadcast systems and networks, covering TV and radio production, post-production and transmission systems; (ii) to conduct workflow studies in relation to digital broadcast technical and production operations; (iii) to evaluate new broadcast technologies; (iv) to coordinate with internal and external bodies and to supervise external contractors; (v) to prepare and evaluate engineering-related tenders; and (vi) to undertake project management of engineering projects involving functional teams across multiple sections. (The post holder may be required to work irregular hours including Sundays and public holidays.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on one-year non-civil service contract terms.
If the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct, the officer may be granted a gratuity which, when added together with the Government’s contribution to MPF scheme, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, general holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted on terms not less favourable than the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(A) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(G) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
