Master Pay Scale Point 4 (HK$12,745 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 7 (HK$15,410 per month)
Candidates should (a) have knowledge of domestic work in a large household, large establishment or hotel. Qualifications or experience in housekeeping, food handling, and knowledge in operating cleaning machines and equipment are preferred; and (b) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and simple English; read and write simple Chinese and English; with secondary education and ability to speak simple Putonghua is an advantage.
Major duties include : (a) performing venue set-up, logistical support and manual work for functions and events; (b) assisting in receiving guests, serving meals and housekeeping service; and (c) handling daily cleaning work including dusting, scrubbing and polishing of floor, carpet shampooing, washing up of display items, crockery, tableware and cutlery; and collecting and sorting luggage.
(Note 1 : Domestic Staff V are required to (a) work overtime and irregular hours including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays; (b) wear uniform; and (c) be deployed to work in Government House, Fanling Lodge and any other places as required.
Note 2 : For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law (BL) and promoting a culture of learning of BL in the community, assessment of BL knowledge will be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. Candidates who are invited to attend the recruitment interview will be tested orally on their BL knowledge during recruitment interview. The results of BL assessment will be taken into account only if two candidates are considered equal in all other aspects.)
Terms of Appointment:
A new recruit will be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, the officer may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
