HK$43,120 to HK$64,410 per month depending on professional qualification and relevant experience of the candidate.
Candidates should have (a)(i) a bachelor’s degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent, and four years’ relevant post-qualification experience in aviation; or (ii) a Corporate Membership of a recognized professional transport, aeronautical, planning or engineering institution or equivalent; or (iii) seven years’ relevant experience in aviation including service with an airline or aviation authority, as an operations officer; or (iv) an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Contracting State’s Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) (either in Aeroplane or in Helicopter) with Instrument Rating and a minimum of one year’s commercial transport flying experience after gaining the CPL and have passed the Air Transport Pilot Licence examinations; and (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Grade C or above in the Use of English and Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) or equivalent (Note).
Applicants with an overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the same sitting in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test result are considered as having met Grade C in the Use of English in HKALE. The IELTS test result must be valid on the starting day of the application period, i.e. 9 January 2015.
A Project Officer (Airport Standards) is mainly deployed to undertake duties relating to regulatory functions on aviation safety, planning and provision of aviation related facilities, planning and support to air navigation service and technical administration associated with the development of the Three-Runway System at the Hong Kong International Airport, etc.
(Note: Preference will be given to candidates with (i) working experience in civil engineering works, project management, airport operations and management, aerodrome safeguarding criteria (control of obstructions), safety management or flight procedures design and application; (ii) Candidates may be required to work irregular hours.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms up to 31 March 2016.
An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted if the contract is completed with satisfactory performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. 14 days’ annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays, maternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance.
