The candidate should – (1) be a holder of Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD) Aircraft Maintenance Licence (HKAR-66) with the category B1.1/B1.3 or B2; (2) possess not less than 20 years of practical experience in aircraft engineering with 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience in a supervisory position; (3) possess not less than 10 years of working experience in a HKCAD approved aircraft design and/or maintenance organization for both fixed wing aircrafts and helicopters; and (4) be a Corporate Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) in the Aircraft Division, or equivalent.
The part-time airworthiness specialist is mainly deployed to- (1) assist in handling all matters related to aircraft design changes and airworthiness in aircraft maintenance and operation; (2) assist in ensuring compliance of the aviation legislation and regulations in airworthiness, environmental protection requirements, aircraft certification and maintenance procedures as specified in the GFS Engineering Manual; and (3) assist in maintaining the quality standards of the Engineering Section to ensure continued validity of both the Aircraft Maintenance Organization and the Design Organization approvals.
Terms of Appointment:
Selected candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms on part-time basis for 12 months. Number of working hours within a week may vary depending on the actual needs. Normally, selected candidate will be required to work at a schedule arranged by the supervisor subject to a maximum of 17 hours per week. Renewal of contract will be subject to the actual needs of the Department and the performance of the candidate.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
