註:	(i.) 申請人如曾在船廠工作或具有同等經驗，會獲優先考慮。 (ii.) 尚未取得上文(b)項所列明資格的申請人，如現正致力取得所需資格，亦可申請。然而，申請人須於受聘時符合入職條件才會獲考慮聘用。 (iii.) 獲取錄的申請人須輪班／不定時工作（包括星期六、星期日和公眾假期）；有需要時須於政府船塢或政府船舶上執行戶外職務；並要在適當情況下穿着保護衣物和其他個人防護裝備。 (iv.) 就聘任而言，2007年前的香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科（課程乙）E級的成績，在行政上會被視為等同2007年或之後香港中學會考中國語文科和英國語文科第2級成績。
職責:	工業安全督察的主要職責是 – (a) 每日進行安全巡邏，以確保符合法例、《安全管理手冊》、安全程序和其他內部職業安全健康的規定； (b) 為審批工作許可證的申請而在工作開始前檢查明火作業、密閉空間作業、使用汽油燃料的船上的工作、柴油轉輸和汽油轉輸作業的安全措施是否已準備就緒； (c) 進行抽查以確保工作許可證所訂明的職業安全健康措施已獲妥為遵從； (d) 每日檢查危險品數量以確保不會超出豁免量； (e) 協助推行安全程序、安全推廣和其他職業安全健康活動； (f) 為員工和承辦商舉行安全講座；以及 (g) 為工業意外調查、安全工作制度的發展和職業安全健康事宜提供專業意見。
聘用條款:	獲取錄的申請人將會按非公務員合約條款受聘，為期12個月。
福利:	合約圓滿完成而期內一直維持高水準的工作表現及操守者，可獲發約滿酬金。這筆約滿酬金，加上政府按《強制性公積金計劃條例》所訂為受聘人給予強制性公積金計劃的供款，相等於合約期所支底薪總額百分之十五。按照《僱傭條例》的條文所訂，受聘人可享有適用的休息日、法定假日、產假／侍產假、疾病津貼，以及十四天年假。

Entry Requirements:	Candidates should have met the following requirements - (a) Being a Registered Safety Officer (RSO) registered in the Labour Department for industrial undertakings plus two years of relevant experience after RSO registration; (b) Holding a valid Certificate of Certified Workers of Confined Spaces Operation; and (c) Meeting the language proficiency requirements of “Level 2” or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent. [See Note (iv.)]
Note:	(i.) Priority will be given to candidates with working experience in shipyards, or equivalent. (ii.) Candidates who are in the process of obtaining the qualification as specified in (b) above may also apply. Consideration for appointment is subject to the fulfillment of the requirement by the time of appointment. (iii.) Successful candidate is required to work on shifts / irregular hours (including Saturday, Sunday and public holidays); perform duties outdoors in the Government Dockyard and on board government vessels when necessary; and wear protective clothing and other personal protection equipment as appropriate. (iv.) For appointment purpose, “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Duties:	An Industrial Safety Inspector is mainly deployed to – (a) Conduct daily safety patrols to ensure compliance of legislations, Safety Management Manual, safety procedures and other in-house occupational safety and health (OSH) requirements; (b) Vet applications for work permits by checking the readiness of safety precautions necessary for hot work, confined space work, work to be conducted on vessels using petrol fuel, diesel fuel transfer and petrol fuel transfer prior to work commencement; (c) Conduct spot checks to ensure that OSH measures as stipulated in work permits have been maintained; (d) Check the quantities of dangerous goods on a daily basis to ensure that exempted quantities are not exceeded; (e) Assist in implementing safety procedures, safety promotion and other OSH activities; (f) Conduct safety talks for staff and contractors; and (g) Offer professional advice on industrial accident investigations, safe system of work development and OSH matters.
Terms of Appointment:	Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 12 months.
Fringe Benefits	A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. In addition to 14 days’ annual leave, rest days, statutory holidays, maternity/paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
