Project Officer I (Assessment and Support / Chinese) (EDB/EI/015/15)

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in Chinese Language or a BEd degree majoring in Chinese Language, or equivalent; (b) A certificate in education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent; (c) At least 6 years' post-degree experience in teaching and/or curriculum development, of which at least 4 years should be at secondary school level. Preference will be given to candidates who have 4 or more years of experience at relevant supervisory level; and (d) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and Level 2 or above in English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Note), or equivalent.
[Remarks: Preference will be given to candidates with (a) Good communication and interpersonal skill; and (b) Good computer skills, and/or knowledge and experience in teaching resources development at primary and/or secondary levels by using multi-media means.]
For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(a) To provide professional support in the development of an online student assessment platform, including (i) developing new assessment tasks/ items and monitoring of outsourced services in developing new assessment tasks/ items; (ii) serving as member of Subject Committees to ensure the quality of assessment tasks/ items; (iii) conducting the Partner-school Scheme to try out assessment tasks/ items; (iv) planning and conducting relevant publicity activities; (b) To assist in maintaining the necessary professional support to the Basic Competency Assessment (BCA) Project; (c) To assist in organizing and conducting professional development programmes on assessment for learning and enhancement of assessment literacy in schools at both primary and secondary levels; and (d) To assist in developing learning and teaching support materials and conducting studies related to assessment, learning and teaching for the subjects concerned.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 2 years.
(a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays(or substituted holidays), maternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. (b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
