Candidates should have (a) a Hong Kong degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent; (b) at least 20 years’ full time work experience in planning, management and implementation of building/construction development and engineering works, among which at least 6 years of work was related to the development of “sustainable built environment" at managerial level; (c) professional knowledge and experience in the regulatory regimes in relation to buildings; (d) strong leadership, analytical and organizational capabilities; (e) good interpersonal and communication skills; and (f) strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Good knowledge in the operation of the Government and public organisations would be an advantage.
Successful candidate may be required to work during or outside normal office hours on any days, including weekdays (Monday to Friday), Saturdays, Sundays and public holiday, etc. The number of working hours is subject to the operational needs. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period.
The successful candidate will be required to (a) analyze the energy performance of targeted buildings to identify potential green building opportunities in these buildings; (b) identify the target and priority of targeted buildings for adoption of green building measures; (c) organise engagement sessions to seek views and comments from relevant stakeholders on green building opportunities and options to accelerate green building development in the private sector; and (d) formulate measures and strategies to promote green building in the targeted sector taking into account the views collected.
(Note: The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the bureau.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for six months.
