Candidates should have (a) a Hong Kong Bachelor's degree in chemistry or physics, or equivalent; (b) at least 15 years' relevant experience at management and supervisory level for the planning, design, development, fabrication and production of exhibits in museums, exhibition halls, education centres, etc., preferably including local experience; and (c) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) or equivalent.
For non-civil service appointment purpose, 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the previous HKCEE are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 2' in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
To provide advice on the setting up of a new Water Resources Education Centre for Water Supplies Department including theme setting, layout planning, contract strategy, contract documentation, exhibits design, supervision of design and fabrication/installation contract and promotion tactic.
(Remarks: The number of working hours is subject to prevailing operational needs. Working time per week will be no less than 25 hours.)
Terms of Appointment:
The successful candidate will be appointed on 1 year non-civil service contract terms.
A gratuity may be granted to the appointee upon satisfactory completion of the contract with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government's contribution to an Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity/ paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
