Master Pay Scale Point 6 (HK$15,145 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 10 (HK$19,410 per month)
Candidates should have attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Primary 6 standard and have one of the following: (a) satisfactorily completed an approved and relevant printing apprenticeship; or (b) completed Secondary 3, or equivalent, plus three years’ relevant working experience; or (c) completed Primary 6, or equivalent, plus six years’ relevant working experience; or (d) a Diploma in Vocational Studies in Advertising, Packaging and Printing or a Technician Foundation Certificate in Printing Digital Workflow Production from the Vocational Training Council, or equivalent; plus two years’ relevant working experience.
(i) Candidates will be required to pass a trade test. (ii) Required to work shifts and/or overtime as necessary. (iii) For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law and promoting a culture of learning of Basic Law in the community, an assessment of Basic Law knowledge will be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. Candidates who are invited to attend an interview will be tested orally on their Basic Law knowledge during the interview. The results of Basic Law assessment will be taken into account only if two candidates are considered equal in all other aspects.
A Printing Technician II in the Finishing Stream is mainly deployed on supervising junior staff and operating the machines in the print finishing process; maintaining and adjusting the machines for proper operation, and hand-binding work.
Terms of Appointment:
A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.

(i) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. Completed application forms, together with photocopies of certificates and transcripts in support of academic and professional qualification and proof of working experience, should reach the Appointment Unit of Government Logistics Department, 9/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong not later than 4 June 2015. On-line application can also be made through the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Candidates who apply online should submit their photocopies of certificates and transcripts in support of academic and professional qualification and proof of working experience to the above address within one week after the close of application period (i.e. 11 June 2015). The online application number should be quoted on the envelope and the copies of supporting documents. If candidates fail to provide the supporting documents requested, their applications will not be considered. If the application is submitted by post, the postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of the application. Candidates will be invited for the trade test only if they pass the interview. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about ten to twelve weeks from the closing date for application. This period may be longer in exceptional circumstances, e.g. when a large number of applications are received or when there are other complications. Those who do not receive an invitation may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
