Candidates should have –
(a) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth);
(b) Level 2 / Grade E or above in Mathematics in the HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent;
(c) proficiency in the use of computer software, such as MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint (Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with the use of MS Access and Excel and possess relevant working experience);
(d) good Chinese and English typing skills; and
(e) ability to lift heavy objects.
[Candidates invited for interview may be required to sit for (i) a written test on knowledge of computer software; and (ii) a heavy object lifting test. ]
Successful candidate may be required to work during or outside normal office hours on any days, including weekdays (Monday to Friday), Saturdays, Sundays and public holiday, etc. The number of working hours is subject to the operational needs. There is no guarantee on the minimum number of hours of work in any given period.
The successful candidate will be required to (a) perform data processing and analysis; (b) provide logistics support to the office and to perform general clerical work such as filing; (c) assist in carrying out field operation including carrying bulky equipment items and taking care the safety measures for public during inspection; and (d) perform outdoor duties such as dispatch of documents.
(Note: The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the department.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for not more than one year.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the Enquiry Address.

The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau's website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed application forms together with copies of academic qualifications and documentary proof indicating the relevant work experience should reach the Enquiry Address on or before the closing date for application. Please indicate the post applied for on the envelope. Applications which are late or incomplete/without the relevant supporting documents or submitted by fax/email will not be considered. On-line application is not accepted. Candidates who are selected for interview will normally receive an invitation in about eight weeks from the closing date of application.
