$65,165 – 74,690 per month, depending on experience
Candidates should have –
(a) a Hong Kong degree in Engineering, or equivalent, recognized by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) as fulfilling its academic requirements for Corporate Membership in either Electronics or Electrical Disciplines (elected after 5 December 1975), or equivalent; and 8 years’ relevant practical post-degree training and/or experience recognized by HKIE as contributing towards Corporate Membership in either Electronics or Electrical Disciplines, or equivalent; of which 3 years’ experience should be in the planning and development of engineering projects in TV broadcasting, radio broadcasting or multimedia environment; AND
(b) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 or above in English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) / Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, or equivalent [See Note (1)].
Candidates who have –
(i) proficiency in written English;
(ii) good understanding of the latest broadcast technologies including HDTV, DTT, DAB+, Digital Newsroom, Broadcast Networks, MAM and their applications; and experience in RF Transmission, Studio and Station engineering or File-based broadcast systems;
(iii) experience related to Network Routers, Switches, Firewalls and IT infrastructure; and/or
(iv) experience in supervising technical operations and maintenance
will have an advantage.
(1) “Grade E” in English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE is accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. (2) Candidates will be required to sit for a trade test.
(i) to carry out planning and development of digital broadcast facilities and networks, including digital TV and radio contribution / distribution systems, remote monitoring systems, network redundancy and restoration; (ii) to conduct engineering feasibility studies in relation to digital broadcast transmission; (iii) to evaluate new broadcast technologies and to report on their performances; (iv) to coordinate with internal and external bodies in engineering development; (v) to prepare and evaluate tenders; (vi) to supervise engineers; and (vii) to supervise external contractors during engineering project implementation. (The post holder may be required to work irregular hours including Sundays and public holidays.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on one-year non-civil service contract terms.
If the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct, the officer may be granted a gratuity which, when added together with the Government’s contribution to MPF scheme, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, general holidays, annual leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted on terms not less favourable than the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(A) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend recruitment examination and/or interview.
(F) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria.
(G) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
