(a) A diploma in music from a recognized institution; or an Associate/Licentiate/Fellowship diploma conferred by a recognized music institution through public examination, or equivalent; (b) Not less than 7 years’ full-time post-qualification working experience in arts and/or music administration in recognized institutions or organizations; (c) Meeting the language proficiency requirements of level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [see Note]; and (d) Fluent Cantonese and good written and spoken Chinese and English.
For non-civil service appointment purpose, “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(a) To assist the Chief Music Officer in the research, planning, co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation of music promotion activities including the Outreach Interest Classes; and to make recommendations on their future development and improvement; (b) To oversee the strategic planning and publicity for promoting the service of the Music Office and to co-ordinate public relations matters; (c) To liaise with sponsors, schools, community organizations, Government departments, artists and performing groups, and the media; and to represent the Music Office to attend external meetings related to music promotion; (d) To oversee the development and operation of the Music Office library; (e) To be responsible for all administrative matters related to the Activities and Promotion Section and the Music Office Library; and (f) To supervise Music Officers, Assistant Music Officers, administrative and part-time staff in the Activities and Promotion Section of the Music Office. (Will be required to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends and Public Holidays.)
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of two years.
A gratuity may be granted to the appointee upon satisfactory completion of the contract with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity payable for the contract will be the sum which, when added to the Department's contribution to a MPF Scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
