(a) Minimum ten years of relevant work experience gained in marketing and communications, branding management, advertising or foreign direct investment promotion;
(b) A Hong Kong degree or equivalent, preferably in marketing, business communications, journalism or related field; a higher degree would be an advantage;
(c) Previous experience in line management is desirable;
(d) Knowledge of and experience in investment promotion or economic development is an advantage; and
(e) Strong copywriting skills. Fluency in English is a must and proficiency in another language/ Chinese dialect such as Putonghua or Cantonese is preferable.
The appointee will lead a small team to develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy to promote Hong Kong as a business location and the services provided by Invest Hong Kong. Main duties of the post include -
(a) to develop and execute a comprehensive advertising and branding strategy to meet the needs of Invest Hong Kong locally, in Mainland China and overseas;
(b) to oversee and manage event sponsorship as part of Invest Hong Kong’s brand strategy;
(c) to develop and update marketing materials, publications, bi-monthly newsletter, etc; and
(d) to manage the development of the departmental website, social media and digital initiatives, and CRM database.
Terms of Appointment:
Ranking as an Investor Relations Officer, the successful candidate will be offered a non-civil service appointment on contract terms for two years. The appointee will not be a civil servant and will not be eligible for posting, promotion or transfer to any posts in the civil service.
(a) An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Such gratuity, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will equal 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period; and (b) The successful candidate will be granted 14 days of annual leave. Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted mainly in line with the provisions of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance.
(a) Non-civil service vacancies are not posts in the civil service establishment. Candidates appointed are not on civil service terms of appointment and condition of service.
