Master Pay Scale Point 9 (HK$19,160 per month) to Master Pay Scale Point 12 (HK$22,900 per month)
Candidates should :
(a) (i) have a Certificate in Electrical Engineering from a Hong Kong polytechnic university/polytechnic, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or technical institute/college, or equivalent; or
(ii) have at least five years’ experience as a worker in Electrical Engineering; or
(iii) have successfully completed a recognized Technician Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering; and
(b) have attained a level of proficiency in Chinese Language and English Language at Form III standard, or equivalent.
For the purpose of heightening public awareness of the Basic Law (BL) and promoting a culture of learning of BL in the community, assessment of BL knowledge will be included in the recruitment for all civil service jobs. Candidates who are invited to attend the recruitment interview will be assessed on their BL knowledge through a written test to be conducted immediately before or after the recruitment interview. The BL test result will be one of the considerations to assess the suitability of a candidate.
A Works Supervisor II (Electrical) is mainly deployed on assisting Works Supervisor I in day to day work supervision, maintaining and repairing electrical machines and batteries, operating electrical machines and circuits, investigating electrical breakdowns and supervising subordinate staff.
[Note :(i) may be required to perform emergency/shift duties and work outdoor in remote areas or during rigorous conditions; (ii) may be required to work in Marine Police Forward Bases and on board government vessels; and (iii) will be required to wear uniform and protective clothing.]
Terms of Appointment:
A new recruit will normally be appointed on civil service probationary terms for three years. Upon passage of probation bar, he/she may be considered for appointment on the prevailing permanent terms.
