Vacancies of summer internship/vacation training in the following disciplines are available:-
(1) Estate Surveying/Land Administration/Estate Management
(2) Land Surveying/Geomatics/Geo-Informatics/Utility Management and Surveying
(3) Computer Science/Computer Studies
(5) Procurement/Logistics/Supply Chain Management
Applicants should be full-time students of a Bachelor Degree course which is recognized by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors for registering for the Assessment of Professional Competence in the General Practice Division, or equivalent.
Applicants should be full-time students of a Bachelor Degree course which is recognized by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors for registering for the Assessment of Professional Competence in the Land Surveying Division, or equivalent.
Applicants should be full-time students of a Bachelor Degree course in Computer Science, Computer Studies or related subjects.
Applicants should be full-time students of a Bachelor Degree course in Accounting or related subjects.
Applicants should be full-time students of a Bachelor Degree course in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related subjects.
Place of Work: Offices of the Lands Department on HK Island/ in Kowloon/ the New Territories
To assist professionals in undertaking work in relation to land administration.
(i) To carry out duties in relation to land boundary survey, topographic survey and cartography.
(ii) To carry out duties in relation to digital mapping and data processing.
To enhance the efficiency of various computer information systems.
To assist professionals in carrying out accounting duties.
To carry out duties in relation to procurement and supply operation.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful interns will be engaged on non-civil service contract terms for a period of not more than eight weeks from June to August 2015.
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

(e) Where a large number of candidates meet the specified entry requirements, the recruiting department may devise shortlisting criteria to select the better qualified candidates for further processing. In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend recruitment examination and/or interview.
(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria.
(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
How to apply:
(a) Hong Kong students studying in local post-secondary institutions should apply through the Student Affairs Offices/Career Centres of
their respective institutions and they are advised to note the deadlines set by the respective institutions. Applications submitted directly to Lands Department will not be considered.
(b) Students studying in non-local post-secondary institutions should send the completed Application Form together with the certificate of their student status to the below address on or before the closing date for application. The job title concerned should be clearly marked on the application form.
Interviews will normally be conducted in June 2015. Applicants who are not invited to an interview within 4 weeks from the closing date of application may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
