Candidates must ‧ hold a current HKAR-66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML) issued by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department in Category B2; ‧ hold a current maintenance authorization approval or equivalent issued by a HKAR-145 Approved Maintenance Organization; ‧ have at least 2.5 years of relevant post-licence qualification experience in a supervisory role; and ‧ have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; and be able to communicate in Chinese.
1. Candidates who could meet the entry requirements by the time of offer of appointment would also be considered. 2. For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
‧ Assist Aircraft Engineers in supervision and certification of maintenance work carried out on the Government Flying Service (GFS) aircraft and equipment in accordance with the Hong Kong Aviation Requirements 145, and the Engineering Procedures of the GFS; ‧ Assist Aircraft Engineers in the supervising, managing and training of maintenance staff; ‧ Assist Aircraft Engineers in the works relating to the aircraft replacement projects; and ‧ Carry out aircraft servicing and maintenance or related work as directed.
(Note: The appointees are required to wear uniform and work shifts/irregular hours.)
Terms of Appointment:
‧ Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of three years.
‧ Contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund; ‧ A gratuity, which, added together with the Government’s contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn may be granted subject to satisfactory completion of the contract with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct; and ‧ 14 days of annual leave whilst rest days, statutory holidays (or alternative/substituted holidays), maternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. Application forms [G.F.340 (Rev.3/2013)] are obtainable from any Public Enquiry Service Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (http://www.csb.gov.hk). Completed forms should reach the address below by mail or in person on or before the closing date for application. For application delivered by mail, the postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application. Please ensure that sufficient postage is paid. An applicant will bear any consequences arising from not paying sufficient postage. Applications which are incomplete, late or submitted by fax or e-mail, or not made in the prescribed form, or not duly signed will not be considered.
