入職條件: (一) 持有香港拯溺總會頒發的有效泳池救生章或沙灘救生章或以上級別證書;
(二) 持有聖約翰救傷會、香港紅十字會或醫療輔助隊的有效急救證書,可獲優先考慮;
(三) 中英文程度達小學六年級水平或具備同等學歷;
(四) 通過游泳與技能測試;以及
(五) 通過視力和顏色分辨能力測試。(申請人視覺敏銳度最少達6/60,即近視不高於約300度。除非申請人無須配戴適當眼鏡即可執行拯溺工作,否則在當值時須配戴適當的不碎眼鏡及泳鏡。)
[註: 申請人如只持有香港拯溺總會頒發的有效泳池救生章,只會被調派往本署轄下泳池工作;而只持有香港拯溺總會頒發的有效沙灘救生章,則只會被調派往本署轄下泳灘或水上活動中心工作。申請人如未能提供上述第(三)項的中英文語文能力證明文件亦可申請。面試中將有中英文語文能力的評核。]
註: 康樂及文化事務署現招聘季節性救生員,在二O一五年泳季,於本署泳池、泳灘或水上活動中心執行拯溺任務。
(一)全職季節性救生員的每週標準工作時數是45小時。每天工作7小時半(不包括用膳時間)。須按照所屬主管人員的安排,在上午6時15分至晚上10時15分期間輪班當值,或須超時工作,並須在星期六、日及公眾假期當值。
(二)本署只會按部門需要指派工作給兼職時薪季節性救生員,即表示兼職時薪季節性救生員並非於全段合約期均可獲派工作,而工資亦以他們實際之工作時數計算。視乎運作需要,他們在獲指派工作的日子須每節工作不少於四小時(不包括用膳時間)。他們須由上午6時15分至晚上10時15分期間輪班當值,並須在星期六、日及公眾假期當值。
職責: (一) 在本署泳池、泳灘或水上活動中心照顧泳客的安全;
(二) 拯救遇溺泳客;
(三) 維持秩序;以及
(四) 保持場地清潔。
聘用條款: 獲聘者將按非公務員合約條款聘用。
福利: [註:兼職季節性救生員不適用]
在適當的情況下,僱員可根據《僱傭條例》的規定而享有休息日、法定假日(或代替假日)、年假、產假及疾病津貼。
受聘不少於三個月的季節性救生員如圓滿完成整個合約期,並且在職期間行為及表現良好,可獲得一筆約滿酬金如下:
(一)連續受聘三個月或以上但少於四個月,該筆酬金加上政府按強制性公積金計劃條例第485章所作的供款,應相等於有關受聘期實得薪金總額的10%;或
(二)連續受聘四個月或以上,首三個月的酬金加上政府按強制性公積金計劃條例第485章所作的供款,應相等於該首三個月實得薪金總額的10%。至於第四個月及其後每個月的服務期,酬金加上政府按強制性公積金計劃條例第485章所作的供款,應相等於有關受聘期間實得薪金總額的15%。
附註: (一) 除另有指明外,申請人於獲聘時必須已成為香港特別行政區永久性居民。
(二) 作為提供平等就業機會的僱主,政府致力消除在就業方面的歧視。所有符合基本入職條件的人士,不論其殘疾、性別、婚姻狀況、懷孕、年齡、家庭崗位、性傾向和種族,均可申請本欄內的職位。
(三) 非公務員職位並不是公務員編制內的職位。應徵者如獲聘用,將不會按公務員聘用條款和服務條件聘用。獲聘的應徵者並非公務員,並不會享有獲調派、晉升或轉職至公務員職位的資格。
(四) 入職薪酬、聘用條款及服務條件,應以獲聘時之規定為準。
(五) 如果符合訂明入職條件的應徵者人數眾多,招聘部門可以訂立篩選準則,甄選條件較佳的應徵者,以便進一步處理。在此情況下,只有獲篩選的應徵者會獲邀參加招聘考試╱面試。(如適用)
(六) 政府的政策,是盡可能安排殘疾人士擔任適合的職位。殘疾人士申請職位,如其符合入職條件,毋須再經篩選,便會獲邀參加面試/筆試。(如適用)
(七) 持有本港以外學府╱非香港考試及評核局頒授的學歷人士亦可申請,惟其學歷必須經過評審以確定是否與職位所要求的本地學歷水平相若。有關申請人須郵寄修業成績副本及證書副本到上述查詢地址。
申請手續: 申請人須帶同填妥的申請表格,身分證正本及副本、有效的拯溺證書(泳池救生章或沙灘救生章或以上級別證書)及個人救生紀錄手冊(副本部份包括個人資料及考試紀錄)的正本及副本,於2015年5月5日上午9時或下午2時直接前往維多利亞公園游泳池 (香港銅鑼灣興發街一號)投考。面試名額以「先到先得」方式分配,額滿即止。如申請人數眾多,本署會另行擇日安排面試。請帶備游泳衣物(不可穿有浮力的衣物)以便即場進行技能測試。
請注意,當日未能提供上述文件或不符合「季節性救生員」的入職條件之申請人將不獲安排進行技能測試及面試。
申請人如未滿十八歲,須由家長或法定監護人陪同方可參加技能測試。

Entry Requirements: (1) possess a valid Pool Lifeguard Award or Beach Lifeguard Award or above issued by the Hong Kong Life Saving Society ;
(2) preferably possess a valid First Aid Certificate issued by the St. John Ambulance Association, Hong Kong Red Cross or Auxiliary Medical Service ;
(3) attain a level of proficiency in Chinese and English languages equivalent to Primary 6 standard;
(4) pass the swimming and trade tests; and
(5) pass an eyesight test and the Ishihara's Test. (An applicant's visual acuity should be at least 6/60, i.e. myopia not exceeding roughly 300 degrees. Wearing of plastic corrective lens and goggles with appropriate prescription while on duty is mandatory unless candidates have unaided good eyesight for lifesaving duties.)
[Note:Candidates who possess a valid Pool Lifeguard Award only will be deployed to work at swimming pools of this department only while those who possess a valid Beach Lifeguard Award only will be deployed to work at beaches or water sports centres of this department. Candidates without supporting documents of the Chinese and English languages proficiency of (3) above may also apply. There will be assessments of Chinese and English languages proficiency during the interview.]
Note: The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is inviting applications for the post of Seasonal Lifeguard. The selected candidates will be required to perform lifesaving duties at any public swimming pools, beaches or water sports centres of the LCSD for the swimming season of 2015.
(1) The conditioned working hours of a full-time Seasonal Lifeguard are 45 hours net per week and seven and a half hours per day (excluding meal breaks). The incumbents are required to work shifts during the period from 6:15 am to 10:15 pm according to supervisors’ arrangements or to work overtime. They are also required to work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
(2) Part-time Hourly-rated Seasonal Lifeguards are required to work on any day(s) during the hourly-rate contract period as specified by LCSD depending on operational needs. They are required to work at least four hours per session on any one specified day (excluding meal breaks) depending on operational needs. The actual salary received will be calculated based on their actual total number of hours worked. The incumbents are required to work shifts during the period from 6:15 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. according to supervisors’arrangements. They are also required to work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Duties: (1) To ensure the safety of swimmers at swimming pools, beaches or water sports centres of this department;
(2) To rescue swimmers in distress;
(3) To maintain order; and
(4) To assist in cleaning work.
Terms of Appointment: Successful applicants will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms.
Fringe Benefits [Note:Not applicable to part-time Seasonal Lifeguard]
Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance. Upon satisfactory completion of a continuous contract for not less than three months and subject to satisfactory performance and conduct during the contract period, the Seasonal Lifeguard may be granted a gratuity as follows:
(1) For a continuous contract for three months or above but less than four months, the gratuity payable for the contract will be the sum which, when added to the Government's contribution as required by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap 485), equals to 10% of the total basic salary of substantive office drawn during the period of contract; or
(2) For a continuous contract for four months or above, the gratuity payable for the first three months of the contract will be the sum which, when added to the Government's contribution as required by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap 485), equals to 10% of the total basic salary of substantive office drawn during the first three months of the contract. The gratuity payable for the fourth and subsequent months of the contract will be the sum which, when added to the Government's contribution as required by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap 485), equals to 15% of the total basic salary of substantive office drawn during the fourth and subsequent months of contract.
General Notes: (1) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. (7) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the above enquiry address.
How to apply: Applicants should bring along with them the duly completed application form, the original and photocopies of their Hong Kong Identity Card, the original and photocopies of their valid lifesaving award (Pool Lifeguard Award or Beach Lifeguard Award or above) and log book (photocopies of the log book should include personal particulars and record of the examination), and attend the trade tests and interview on 5 May 2015 at 9:00 am or 2:00 pm at Victoria Park Swimming Pool (1 Hing Fat Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong). The interview quotas are assigned on a first come first served basis. Additional interviews will be arranged on other dates if necessary. They should also bring along with a swimming suit (with no floating purpose) for the trade tests.
For those applicants who cannot present the abovementioned documentary proof on the Recruitment Day or do not meet the entry requirements of the position of “Seasonal Lifeguard” will NOT be arranged for trade tests and interview.
For those applicants who are under the age of 18 should be accompanied by their parent or guardian in order to attend the trade tests.
